PRODUCT SAFETY NOTICE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FUJIAN JOINLUCK ENTERPRISE CO. LTD. IS VOLUNTARILY RECALLING THE GLOBE MINI-SPIRAL COMPACT FLUORESCENT 13 WATT LIGHT BULB.
MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Electrical Safety Authority has joined forces with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) to issue a public notice to consumers who purchased a compact fluorescent 13 Watt mini-spiral lamp between January 2002 and April 2003. The lamps are manufactured by Fujian Joinluck Enterprise Co. Ltd and distributed by Globe Electric under the brand name Globe Mini-Spiral 13 W.
Based on a notice released by UL on Oct. 26, 2004, these lamps were manufactured with parts that UL did not investigate. These parts can fail and melt a hole in the enclosure, posing a fire hazard and exposing the user to hazardous voltage. These lamps are not
authorized to bear the cUL Mark

Consumers should check any Globe Mini-Spiral 13 W lamps they purchased to see
whether or not they were manufactured from January 2002 through April 2003.
Check the base of the bulb for the following date codes.

The date code is found on the base of the bulb to the right of the Globe logo, as shown here. Only those 13 Watt mini spiral bulbs with the aforementioned date codes may be defective. |

Consumers who have the recalled product should immediately stop using
the lamps and contact the manufacturer at
customerservice@globe-electric.com,
or by phone at 514-694-0444,
ext 151.The
recalled bulbs can be returned to Joinluck Recall 10/04, 1453 Cornwall Road,
Oakville, Ontario, L6J 7T5. JOINLUCK will arrange, at no charge, for 2 (two)
free 13 watt replacement bulbs to be immediately sent to consumers.
