REVISED GUIDELINE - COMMENCING PROCEEDINGS UNDER PART I
OF THE PROVINCIAL OFFENCES ACT

Attached is a copy of the revised guideline entitled, Commencing Proceedings Under Part I of the Provincial Offences Act (September 1998, First Revision) , and a contact list of Managers of Court Operations. Please replace the original guideline with this latest version.

The principal revisions made to the guideline include;

• changes to the wording contained in the sample tickets (Appendix B) which more effectively describes the offence,

• some unnecessary procedural steps were deleted from subsections 4.4 through 4.7, and

• a new subsection 7.2 entitled "First Attendance Meeting" was added to section 7 of the guideline.

A current contact list of Managers of Court Operations has also been provided to assist fire officials in obtaining a supply of tickets from their local court offices.
