Firefighter Memorial Service
The Ontario Fire College will not be hosting a Firefighter Memorial Service this October.
The Office of the Fire Marshal will be fully in support of the ceremony held at Queen’s Park on the first Sunday in October, and will not draw on the same resources to replicate that ceremony at the Fire College. Also, the importance of remembering and honouring the fallen will become an integral part of year round programming at the Fire College.
Throughout the year, the Fire College will be integrating the important memorial message into ongoing events. All Seminars held at the Fire College will feature a few minutes devoted to remembering and honouring fallen firefighters. The College will also develop displays which will be on view throughout the year in high profile areas and written materials which will carry the message of remembrance and honour to all student-learners and visitors.
As always, student-learners and guests will be welcomed to visit the Ontario Fire College Memorial site to reflect on the sacrifice of those who have given their lives for the protection and safety of others.
