Helping Ontario Municipalities Educate (H.O.M.E.) Fund

Communiqué 2016-04

January 14, 2016

To mark the 100th anniversary of the appointment of the first Ontario fire marshal in 1916, the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) established a $1.5 million public fire safety education fund for the Ontario fire service.

The FMPFSC will use the Helping Ontario Municipalities Educate (H.O.M.E.) fund to offer Ontario municipal fire departments a credit amount to obtain free public fire safety education materials from the FMPFSC’s distribution centre.

Over the next several weeks, each Ontario municipal fire department will receive a letter specifying the credit amount, and the terms and conditions of the offer. Once the offer has been accepted, the fire department will have until December 31, 2017, to order the materials from the distribution centre.

If, after receiving their letters, fire departments have questions, they may contact the FMPFSC by telephone at 1-866-379-6668, extension 103.
